Hey, sup? - Posted by Deepz at 11:13 AM

We are Recon, an Alliance guild on Kael'thas (PvE). We're interested in adding a few stellar, experienced (read: Sunwell or 9/9 BT minimum) raiders as we continue progressing through Sunwell. We are 3/6, and working on the Eredar Twins at the moment. We are generally a casual guild with respect to the amount we raid, but when we get into an instance is where we have a hardcore attitude.

We are also in the market for a solid/geared/experienced, non paladin healer. We hear mass dispel is pretty good too.

We expect all raiders to come to progression nights with enough consumables to last the entire night (Flasks, Pots, Food, etc...). We look for players who are analytical, and have an approach to the game that matches our own. If something isn't working, we analyze where things are going wrong and establish a solid plan to prevent it from happening again.

Attaching recent WWS parses to applications is absolutely recommended. This is for the applicants benefit, as with server transfers we do not wish to have someone transfer, not meet our standards, and be stuck on lockdown.

We raid 4 nights a week, and our progression raid schedule is (All times are CST):
Tues: 7:45pm - 11pm
Wed: 7:45pm - 11pm
Thurs: 7:45pm - 11pm
Sun: 4pm - 10pm

The slimmer raid schedule means we expect a minimum of 80% attendance from members, and what we offer in return is a very high amount of raid time. We are not like other guilds, who bloat their ranks to enormous levels and constantly have way more raiders than slots available.

We run a zero-sum DKP system, with an upgrade/downgrade option, very similar to the Elitist Jerks WoW 1.0 system. Those who arrive on time, but are for whatever reason unable to be in the instance with us, recieve equal points as if they were in there killing things with us.

We are a fun group of people who enjoy raiding, and are typically 9-5'ers or older students. We ask that applicants be able to control their own schedule (no parents to unexpectedly drop in to steal you from us )

If you're the type of player who is constantly evaluating your own performance, and always open to suggestions, you're the type of person we're interested in.

If the phrase "Don't tell me how to play my class" is something you're fond of, please do not apply.

Specific openings:
2 - Misc. Ranged DPS (Hunter/Mage/Warlock)
1 - Ridiculous Melee DPS'er
1 - Shadow Priest
1-2 Healers (Priests/Shamans highest priority, Trees second)

Closed Classes:
Paladin
Ele Shaman (May be interested in a second enhancement shaman)
Warrior

If you're still interested, please register on our forums and post an application. Make sure you're able to communicate with us properly ("U" and "UR" will get your application denied very quickly) as it indicates how well you'll interact with us in a raid.

mmm dragon - Posted by Deepz at 09:42 PM

So we finally pulled our collective heads out of our asses and killed this bitch.  Mass Dispel, running AND potting at the same time, are very difficult things, honest.

YAY GROUP COMP - Posted by Deepz at 09:01 PM

So never before have we seen a boss that stressed our slim roster this much.  Having a few people on vacation really delayed this kill.  That being said, we moved a prot warrior over to MS, got our warlock and feral druid back, and managed to beat this guy up.  Not having any glaive sets, missing Curse of Shadows really hurt, but I'd like to give a personal shout out to [Drums of Battle]  <3

Oh, and our favorite two fisted holy paladin for logging in and making sure we had a third pally buff each pull for 5 hours straight.  I think I've had enough raid stacking for one week though.

Also, we figured out how to fraps stuff again, so movies galore incoming!

We're playing around with a new embedded streaming solution with Stage6 gone.  The first shot at it should appear shortly after it has finished processing.

Kalecgos - Posted by Deepz at 09:54 PM

Blizzard really stepped it up a notch on this fight.  The mechanics of it are refreshing after what they threw at us in Hyjal.  We took our introductory look at him on patch day (lol mods?), and then another two pulls to finish him off tonight.  It's a pleasant gear/skill check to introduce you to the instance, and we took a look at the gear check that was designed for the guilds that killed Illidan last summer.  Suffice it to say, we're still going to be farming for warglaives while learning this place.  WTB more ironshields too.  PST.
